Wow, how many lbs will she pick up?

3000 lbs with a 19 foot reach. It makes tree work and land clearing much less of a chore. This was after we transferred everything to the trailer. We split the load because the job is on a very steep grade and it was piss pouring rain so we didn’t wanna risk the trailer pushing his truck off the road down that hill. 1EB888B8-2BC8-4A70-BADA-E506413D3657.jpeg

So you like it over the 461 & 661 now?

I wonder how it stacks up against a ported 461? I’m sure you’ve had those.

Did you just do the front spring, or anything else?
Yeah just the front spring, foam piece, and the rubbers for the cases.

Still diggin the weight and power? I know I am.
My back is liking that more and more everyday I’d be hard pressed to give it up unless the wood really warrantied it. I’m noticing I’m adjusting my grind more aggressive then what I use to run to keep load on the saw.

Have you ever rebuilt a jack ram before?

This is the first Stihl I’ve had since I’ve started cutting, we haven’t had once since the 064 days. A good way to put it is it and a 390 husky are neck and neck with the weight of a 372 it’s a nice little combo for all day falling. The only saw full of fuel was the 500i and it’s the only saw that has aftermarket dawgs.

It’s a good saw for sure, but it’s still new tech in this application.

I don’t care for springs but it would seem these are getting better with the AM kits.

I think He’s on point with the Husky comparison & I’m certain he & others here will put the 500s thru their paces to see how it stacks up for real use.

A lot of folks aren’t making stumps with them on other platforms so it’s hard to get real world info.
