We can run the dogs year round with the exception of during the 7 days of gun deer season but we cannot harvest them until November 10

At the end of the day a nap in front of the hot shop fireplace.
Yes, I noticed - I have to replace the fireplace door seal.

Well, that was/is a fail!
Pup is anything but thrilled about the winter/raincoat.

Pup wouldn't leave my side while I was splitting firewood.
I supplied a carpet, saw that she was trembling - wrapped her up im my sweater.





Spent a fair amount of time cuddling.



I don't know who is crazier, her or me - I have a fairly good idea though!

I am always as sharp as a wrecking ball, and it is safe to assume that I will run into a wall head first so my limbs don't take damage.

After a while she pocked her head out to make sure I am still close, then fell back asleep.

A lazy morning for the dogs. Wood stove must have got to them. Made the big move from infront of it to the mat at front door.

My sisters junior pup Taron, he has no clue how big his legs & paws are - no floor bound flowerpot is safe when he is sleeping and dreaming.

My dishwasher, works great, acts up only when there are no dishes.

One of my pups admirers, boyfriend "Bear".
He is very friendly, doesn't go after my chicken nor ducks, loves to cuddle.
He is a hunting breed, Dachsbracke

I can only imagine how adorable the puppies of these two would be.
My pup (female, left) is a mix, but her dad is a purebred hunting dog breed.
My girl is sterilized, her perfect character genome mix ends with her, unfortunately.
Admirer/boyfriend "Bear" is super cool though, unlike many other males we meet.

@greystone mountain man , I feel it is better this way for my current pup.
She will never know the feeling of separation from her pupies, she will not know the consequences of being in heat.
Male dogs still court her, but she chooses which one she will keep company with.

It may sound cruel, but it is not supposed to.
I have lived through several previous female pup lives, they were always devastated when the time came to find new homes for their puppies.
When in heat they had to endure the courtship of every male dog close by.

She can go about her life, hunt, dig, play, cuddle, sleep - only worrying that we notice her signals when she needs to go potty (she doesn't bark for that!).

I sincerely hope she is a happy pup, but I often wonder what her offspring would be like.
