I love both my dogs. Axle isn't very smart sometimes but he has a great temperament, great with my kids and is just a fun dog to be around. He tries to eat anything. The X-ray is of a pair of socks he ate and the last picture was after he tried to eat a wasp.
Angus was my first bird dog in nearly 20 years. Unfortunately we lost him at 18mo to blastomycosis. It was heartbreaking and I swore I was done with dogs. This picture was after a long ride home from Iowa. Even with all of the hunting pictures I have of him from Illinois to South Dakota, this is still my favorite.
Of course, new big sister Bella helped wear him down after he arrived home:
We got Bella from a Rottweiler rescue. I can't imagine a better family pet ever. Talk about luck. Bella passed last fall at the ripe old age of 13. Pretty old for a Rottie.
Deuce is a puppy I brought up from a great breeder in Georgia. He was something new for me as far as bloodlines go. He just didn't quite fit my style and is now a happy companion grouse dog in Maine.
Pointing on scent at 15 weeks old. We've come to expect this from our dogs with proper exposure.
Maybe the nicest all around male I've ever had. Rock was an AKC Master Hunter at 17mo old and was a perfect gentleman's gundog. He got hit by a speeding bullet car in front of our house on Easter of 2013. It was a tragic family event.
