I just enjoy raising and training pups.thats why I've never sterilized any of mine but I only breed the best of the best of my bloodlines.i like seeing if any of the pups turn out as good or better than their parents.@greystone mountain man , I feel it is better this way for my current pup.
She will never know the feeling of separation from her pupies, she will not know the consequences of being in heat.
Male dogs still court her, but she chooses which one she will keep company with.
It may sound cruel, but it is not supposed to.
I have lived through several previous female pup lives, they were always devastated when the time came to find new homes for their puppies.
When in heat they had to endure the courtship of every male dog close by.
She can go about her life, hunt, dig, play, cuddle, sleep - only worrying that we notice her signals when she needs to go potty (she doesn't bark for that!).
I sincerely hope she is a happy pup, but I often wonder what her offspring would be like.
Damn!Hey friends. My 6 month old black Lab Willow is at the emergency vet right now. We had her spayed last week and all was well. Suddenly, today we found her curled up in the corner with her innards out in the open. So, they are going to clean her out, put everything back in place, and stitch her up. Please say a little prayer for her!
My pup won't step on any wire/ribbed surface like that.View attachment 445554View attachment 445555JJ decided to follow onto my tanker.
He had been up on the cat walk a couple times
Weighs in at 33 lbs now

Thanks so much, friends. Unfortunately, Willow didn't make it. The operation went well, but afterwards she suddenly flatlined and the vet could not get her going again. The vet said this does happen sometimes, especially on a young and energetic dog. They get excited and run around, pulling their stitches out. My daughter is 9 and unusually mature about death. She just accepts it as a normal part of life, which I can't seem to make myself do.
