Well, I'm back home in Texas and this followed me home today - two owner 1991 F350 XLT Lariat with only 147k miles. 2WD, 7.3 IDI, ZF5. It's a farm truck; came from a cattle ranch in central Texas and made the 100 mile drive home with no problem.

I have the zf5 in my '95 F250. I agree with you. Not a diesel, 460.Not sure I would have bought it if it didn't have the ZF5...

Not sure it is capable of passing a gas station. But it does pull.We had an 89 250 460 C6. Would put any diesel of the era to shame! Even with dual tanks it wasn't a great idea to pass a gas station! Lol!

I wouldn't put it up against a Powerstroke with 525 ft/lbs (yes, I know they came out in mid 1994), but I suspect it will outpull a stock 7.3 IDI; they only had 180 hp/338 ft/lbs NA. The 89 460 would have had about 245 hp and 405 ft/lbs.
The IDI will generally last longer and get better mileage.
