460, showing offset.

They're not the best, not OEM, and aren't useful for many cutters....but there are options to try out.
This crappy pics shows the offset as described. The roller catcher doesn't line up and the spikes wouldn't contact the wood at the same time (off a bit as mentioned).

Al, would you consider removal of the MFR? It may create confusion some day. I've been marking my work with MFR for a while now.

Was supposed to be MF and "RR" for Riff Raff. Won't happen again.

I can assure you both, there will be no future confusion...this saw will be in my possession till I can't hold it in my frail arms anymore. Then one of my boys will take it, and hopefully keep it running on skunk liquor into Mad Max times.

I have a set of dogs and roller catch. I took them off for shipping.

He tried to charge me $20 for some Farmertec dogs...
Didn't realize you've got a chain catch. I'll toss a standard one on for testing.

On the few 046/460 I've worked on, the 044 Dawgs didn't line up. They were crooked with one side being 1/4" off in fore/aft placement. So effectively, the dual spike was for bling only.

I prefer the small factory Dawgs myself.

After reading all.of the conversation about them, I now realize why mine don't fit. He left the Farmertec dogs on it without a catch, so I got one of the cheap Chinese plastic rollers to use. No bueno, but I managed to make it fit.

In the future, I'll try to find some lower profile ones that fit properly.

I modded a set of AM spikes to fit my 362, what a PITA!!!

They were case hardened, and could not be drilled. Had to punch them to elongate the holes to get them to line up.

Did it, but was not worth it.

Agree with Ryan on this one.
Some are hard, yeah. Not worth it for those ones. Other runs (2013ish) were almost too soft.
Thr only reason I mentioned it originally is 1). They can be used to keep a longer bar out of dirt if your cutting style demands it. 2). They're capable (with about 10mins work) to use a roller catcher that clears noodles better than the Al catch. 3). Many guys have a set from cheap clutch covers that they throw on without understanding the differences for this particular model.

oh, and it turns out this builder tried to use them and further rip off the op. So, yeah--/ let's get the info out there. ($20? Ebay you can get a cover, spikes, screws for $17).

You are exactly correct.

I see you made yours work: I drilled out the holes till I got ok results...

I still have no idea why anyone would buy the wrong dawgs for a saw and attempt to make them fit with the many options of sizes/colors/shapes you can purchase on ebay for a reasonable price that were made to fit your saw...

Sorry...that made sense , ill try to make it harder to understand next time.

I Agree.

Those I had were sent to me by another member to try...
