Here we go, since someone asked. The following took place via PM on another site.

The following were texts.

J: I have a bar and chain for you
I'll take 50$ for. It's a stihl bar 24" with a semi chisel chain.

I ordered new bearings last week and got them yesterday in case you need them
I can put them in.
It cost about 250$ at the dealor to have bearings put in.

That's how good of a deal you are getting. The bearings and seals are almost 100$. I want your business though.

Mastermind and those guys charge more than that to put bearings in.
It's a lot of work.

Me: Ok time to send some money. So you're doing bearings and seals for sure? Making the total $400? I made a deposit of $100, so $300 owed?

J: Yep

You need a new clutch
I have one, 50$
Yours is completely shot.

I have a new set of am dogs
Bout 20$ for both and the bolts.

Clutch is about 80$ new but I have a very good used one I'll take 50 for.

Everything else
is going great.
Porting it now
I'll give you a airfilter cover that's nice
This old one is fd up
---------------------
It's got new bearings and seals, piston and rings, rubber, fuel and impulse line.
Carb is rebuilt.
It was a bad pto side bearing that caused it to seize.
It should be around 30$ for shipping.
I'll get it sent out today.
Give me your address

Wow! Absolutely inconceivable!!
You are in good hands now Greg.

I'm disgusted. Nothing else to say.

I'm sorry...

Right into a wall so far. They sided with him on one of the two disputes, because it was for the clutch that never was replaced, and he supplied the tracking number for the entire saw. Because the dispute was for "not receiving the item," and the tracking showed a successful delivery, they assumed I was lying. So I appealed it and supplied an explanation. Still waiting for a response.

The other one is in the air also.

I'm definitely in good hands, and I appreciate that a million times over.

Jug porting complete. Could spend another hour perfectly squaring the outside flange area and polishing it, but it won't do a damn for performance. Plus It's already larger than I like.

I'd like to say my outer port is prettier than J's, but it's not. The boy can grind, what a waste of talent.

The case/starter/clutch cover have been shipped to be powder coated. Luckily I had bought the needed Stihl colored powder, but I didn't want this case to be my first rodeo. I've got the Eastwood kit here.

A member here graciously accepted the job pro bono.

If I was gonna do them, I'd strip all the paint first. Then blast, then bake, then blast again.

Then a degrease wif acetone and then powder after blocking off what needs to be blocked.

That's what I've been told needs to be done.
