I've held this jug in my hands before anything was done to it, and after Doc Al finished.
These pictures don't do it the proper justice.
Al does awesome work .......... no stone left to unturn, and super attention to detail
Way better than the stuff I've put out.

The case/starter/clutch cover have been shipped to be powder coated. Luckily I had bought the needed Stihl colored powder, but I didn't want this case to be my first rodeo. I've got the Eastwood kit here.

I'm still blown away by the generosity of folks. I can't believe that the saw is gonna be a beast AND have a new, durable finish.

Jug porting complete. Could spend another hour perfectly squaring the outside flange area and polishing it, but it won't do a damn for performance. Plus It's already larger than I like.

I'd like to say my outer port is prettier than J's, but it's not. The boy can grind, what a waste of talent.

Dude, that thing is gorgeous. Knowing your reputation, and having talked to you, I know every single thing that needs done has been.

Looks good doc!

A member here graciously accepted the job pro bono.

If I was gonna do them, I'd strip all the paint first. Then blast, then bake, then blast again.

Then a degrease wif acetone and then powder after blocking off what needs to be blocked.

That's what I've been told needs to be done.

I have the utmost confidence in the end result.

Jug looks really nice. It will run and stay together this time!

Boy, will it. I'm so pumped.

I know you're right about Al's work. I can't wait to run it.

I wouldn't quite say that, I've seen the attention to detail in Al's work every time he posts. So if you say it's even better, all I can say is Wow!

Mike @Glock37 ,
If you don't mind a "powder" question.
Have you ever, did you ever consider alodine as a "primer" for the magnesium. Works well in aluminum on airframes.

I believe they have that at shop
Weve never done any cases with it ill have
to ask chris

Heating cases up outgassing works wonders getting gas out and getting oil out of cases

I use a dry protector primer you really don't have to prime aluminum alodine is used on electronic components so they don't corrode like if we are only powdering the outside of a part that way the inside is protected from corrosion with the alodine being on it
