That's a beast!View attachment 159347 I could clamp a cylinder with a 4x4 on each side.
Newer ones are great too, this here one is going on 20 years old, I believe that they still sell the exact same one View attachment 159363View attachment 159364View attachment 159365
Great for holding everything, including your favorite cold beverage
If you can pick up a used one at a reasonable price, then you really can't go wrong - they are a beautiful vise. However, I don't see $1000 worth of extra value in a new Wilton Bullet vise over a Yost ductile iron vise. Both vises will outlast us and likely outlast our grandkids as well. I know the Wilton is cheaper in the States, but up here they run anywhere from $1300 to $2000.These are by far the best vises for the money. They're called the Tradesman Bullit
vise. Not cheap but will out last any other. I have 4 of these that are 5.5 and 6 inch
models, one that's close to 30 years and still works like new. Keep an eye on ebay
as you can find them from wholesalers for half of retail brand new.
One really nice vice was one you posted Phil when you set up the Temco auto chain grinder up at a GTG. It was off to the right in the pic on the same bench the grinder was set up on, it was a serious chunk of steel.Like the mount!

That would belong to @Ronaldo or @hoskvarna (or both!).One really nice vice was one you posted Phil when you set up the Temco auto chain grinder up at a GTG. It was off to the right in the pic on the same bench the grinder was set up on, it was a serious chunk of steel.
