Some are...especially when they are tuned properly. it helps some when you know at to expect from a high compression saw too. I know which of my saws are lossey goosey and which ones are tight as heck. Ya get a feel for em after a while.The MS440 that Jason built that I bought from his has 195 psi of compression. It is very easy to start. Easier than my 029 and 026.
