I agree.it has been posted that he can't cut them true on a lath either, best to have it checked.
I agree.
What do you think about the vertical lines at the intake side of the upper transfers? There's normally a wear line at the edge of the skirt, but a 7900 piston skirt isn't that wide
Thanks Mike. I do feel like a schmuck, though. LolAlso Sondre, no need to feel foolish, some of the best & brightest on this site have stuff done by Jason. He pretty much had everyone fooled for a while.
Why wouldn't you trust a guy who sent his saws to the GTG for everyone to run???
Hope you got lucky with all of them.
7910 had a slab sided piston. 7900 has windows. Same skirt width. I don't think they're much more than 60% of the width of the boreit's a 7910, I haven't been into one so I can't comment on skirt width
Thanks Deets! He had me fooled for too long.Don't
He certainly can. Nothing wrong there. The thing is... he can make a saw run pretty good.
Hopefully you don't run into many issues. He certainly can. Nothing wrong there.
The obvious shortcuts and blatant dishonesty is what has made me start taking them apart. If he's done shoddy work to many others' saws, there is no reason to believe he hasn't done it to mine.
Like I stated in my first post, I'll share everything. The good and the bad. I'm not out to make anything look better or worse than it really is.
The thing is... he can make a saw run pretty good.
They don't have to be the fastest or strongest as long as they hold upThe best thing about the whole deal I've had with him, is that I've been so damn busy I've barely been able to run them at all. If most of them are salvageable, like this one probably is, I'll be fine. The saws definitely run. They may not be the fastest or strongest, but I'm ok with that as long as I enjoy them.
