They are easy Jake just pull out

I believe they are referred to Catholic buffers.

they rely on the pull out method.

Oh they are cheap. and you get what you pay for. I could show you a pile that are stripped out. even if they are stripped you can fix them. There is no margin in this saw. If you can fix it for cheap its the way you should go. They pop up around here and I offer very little for non runners because you can get upside down in a hurry.
also this is a solid fix that eliminates one of the major downfalls of this saw and for less than 5 bucks.

The 254 was 45mm closed port but had a longer stroke. They reved well and had good power. many of the parts will swap like mufflers rear handles coils, and maybe the clutch?

the 254 was in the family of the 257 and 262 the and had a 12mm conrod pin

50/51/55 was not and had a 10mm pin.

Now if we could put the 34mm stroke 254 crank in the 55 case and make it would we would really be in business @GoBigBlue1984

use a spacer and use the 254 top end on a 55.

I just so happen to have a 254 crank floating around here. Let's do some comparative analysis shall we?

I think I'd rather keep my Husky 61 than sell it and buy a 55 instead. Seem reasonable? It's the one on the right:

The Husky 41 on the left is also a keeper. Why buy one that's in between? Use the 41 for small stuff and pull out the 61 for most of the rest.

Yes.
I can pull mine over fine without it, but they tend to eat recoils. Bad design IMO.
I ripped my rope in half just a few days before Christmas Gotta pull that apart to see what's happened no decomp on mine as it's a rancher. I still love that ol bat had to grab the 346 to finish up a light job
