Hello to all.
Can anyone tell me if the Husqvarna 435 and Husqvarna 440 are built on different sized chassis.
And indeed what is the differences between them, is the clutch the same on both.
Do they use the same oiler.
I know they use a different cylinder, but is the lower end the same, can the bigger cylinder
be put on instead of the smaller one.

Looking forward to hearing your replies, thanks.

I just look up both 435 and 440 ipls.

They use that same 41mm cylinder, crankshaft, and lower crankcase. So I don't know where you are coming that the 440 uses a large cylinder than the 435.

Now on Bailey's the same 504735105 is listed as a 42mm cylinder.

Now with this some of the older 435e did use a 39mm setup per the technical manual but all the replacement parts are the 41mm cylinder and piston.

They use that same 40.9mm cylinder
According to the IPLs, the 435 lists 504 73 51-02 while the 440 lists 504 73 51-01. I wonder what the difference is between the two, is there a baffle in the transfers like they did with the 365/372? Obviously you can drop a 440 cylinder on a 435 without issue, but I wonder what the difference is between the two versions that gave the 435 slight less power when almost all the parts are the same between the two saws?

Newer versions of the cylinder are 504 73 51-03 and -04.

Fascinating. I think I’ve worked on some E’s but didn’t realize that the new ones are 41mm. It’s the same thing that Echo is doing (3410 vs 3510–same saw except for different porting on the cylinders).
