A little mickey mouse trick I've found on these for the impulse grommet/seal is that they take on a set with a bit of a taper, so flip it around and it fits nice and tight again.
Sometimes works to a lesser degree on the intake manifold/spigot sleeve also.

I know, they're cheap, just replace 'em...

Yes. Had one given to me. Cosmetcs good p/c bad. I replaced and ended up needing carb and few other things. Resell on these is so low tgat its hard to flip and do any good. I lost money on a freebe. Disposable saws imo
I see what you mean in that aspect I have one as a personal I really like that saw I've had it 15 years and has been damn good They aren't worth a barrel of money though

I hear what you guys are saying about selling these, profit on this one $5.00, but when it comes back for service, that's where some money can be made. Excellent saw for a do it yourself kinda guy though, in that respect them being cheap and easy to find with excellent parts availability is now a positive instead of a negative.

Jake, the anti-vibes on these are not like their 2xx series cousins, and require replacement from time to time. That and the aforementioned intake is about the only thing troublesome on these. They are a fairly mechanic friendly saw to work on. Mods can be done just as much or little as the Pro saws do. As far as parts go, was able to do a one stop shop at HL Supply for everything needed to rebuild one of these saws. As said before the air dam/plastic intake can be repaired by one of numerous ways if you have trouble with it. HL Supply has good rubber intake and impulse parts for this and I recommend changing them. Other than that, have fun with your build and let us know how your doing with it. SS
do the av buffers require a service tool to change the mounts?
