Gents, I'm still figuring out carb tuning. If the new parts fix the chain spinning at idle issue, should I re-tune the L needle?

Gents, the new clutch springs and clutch drum from @fordf150 did the trick! The old springs were very weak. Before I installed the new parts, I hosed out the saw again with compressed air and also brake cleaner in the clutch area, got'er nice and clean.

I'm grinning and thankful for your advice and guidance. I richened up the L screw about a half turn (back from where I had it) and tuned the idle back down by ear slowly. The saw really feels good, I need to take off that Home Depot crap chain and slap on my Stihl non safety semi chisel now and let'er rip, but it still feels great :D

Man, I love solving a problem!

I used this saw today, for bucking an old but not rotten, deadfall. Nice and dry wood, it's in the stove right now. I used Stihl semi chisel, non safety chain, and the saw was a pleasure to use. The weight does not bother me.

I'm afraid that my beloved 421 is missing me, I'll break her out tomorrow, and clean up another deadfall, this one is a leaner.

My Dolmar PS-6400 is my go-to-saw since I bought her new back in 2006.
She made me largely neglect my till then only gasoline powered saw, 40cc top handle Sachs-Dolmar 105.

Now I'm torn between my PS-6400 and my PS-7900, but my 64er tends to get picked because of fuel economy and for being the logic choice for what I cut.

Though, logic doesn't always prevail.
I love using my PS-7900 for fun, she had cookie cutting duty yesterday while testing some chains.

I'm loving this 42cc/64cc combo and the weight of the 6400 doesn't bother my surgically reconstructed right arm at all.
My small saws are 40cc 1980's Sachs-Dolmar 105 & 108 siblings.
They are nice for small stuff and the occasional "one-cut-job".
They aren't very powerful but handle nicely.

My Dolmar PS-6400 is my go-to-saw.
My Dolmar PS-7900 is my fun and big saw, but mostly fun saw. :)

Nice! I'd love to come visit, do some work, sample the local alcohol, and firearms.

Mini GTG?
I am sure we could arrange something. :)
Would require some logistics, but shouldn't be too complicated.

Do some work?
I'd get us a truckload of firewood logs, no problem!
Could even try and source us more saws, but my PS-7900 alone should keep us entertained.
In Croatia One is not allowed to just go and take out a tree in the forest, unless it is Your private property.

Alcohol?
No problem, every other household has homemade stuff, traditionally moonshine and vine.
I'd even include some traditional local delicacy's, suckling pig is the most common but there are other delicious culinary specialties as well.

Firearms I don't have, but I have at least one coworker and one acquaintance that I know to be hunters, thus they are bound to have some rifles and hunting trophies.

Nothing of the above is unreachable, only small issue is that I work 5-6 days a week from 6AM to 2PM - but we'd find a solution for that as well. ;)

Sucking pig, haven't a clue what that is but it sounds delicious. Moonshine on the other hand I know well. Would love to try some from the hills over the pond some day to see how it compares to the stuff from the hollers of Appalachia. What is used for mash over there?

Suckling pig!
That is Google's translation for "Spanferkel" (German) or "pečenka/prasetina" (Croatian).

It is this:

Finger licking tasty while hot! drool.gif

@Rob Stafari , I edited my post.
The most common homemade high percentage is made traditionally from plums.
Pure pear is somewhat of a specialty.
Apple is also used, but it needs to be distilled twice because the first distillation doesn't hold a lot of alcohol. The second distillation is therefore stomach turning if kept too strong.

Lately the plum harvest yields barely average fruits so people mix in apples and pear to get a little more "shine" whilst mostly keeping the taste of pure plum "Šljivovic".

I'd be out there tomorrow if I could. I appreciate the offers of truly excellent hospitality.
