Well apparently Croatia falls into the 79 united inch rule. When I first looked UPS was $388US. That was based on 30lbs and a standard 18"x18"x16" box. That is what I use for large saws. If, and I mean if it can be squeezed in a 16"x16"x14" the USPS is about $240 US for 30lbs or 14KG

Still not worth it, gonna be 1k$ with customs & 25% VAT.
Every, and I mean EVERY box from the US gets opened by Croatian customs and I already had my fair share of hicckups with customs on mere 5lbs packages.

And, "squeezing in" does not do well with "shipping a chainsaw over the pond".

I may have to buy this beauty and just have Sondre safekeep her so I have my own chainsaw to run when I come visit. ;)

Well I have been shipping saws, parts, and tools to 6 continents for 24 years now. I am pretty well versed in how to ship them so they arrive. Some of the crates are over 450lbs/200KG. The keys are proper packaging and customs documentation. I buy shrink wrap by the case. all items are fully drained, aired out. bagged and wrapped in shrink wrap like a Christmas Goose. If it is a single saw I use a double wall bow lined with another box or in some cases OSB. All boxes are glued shut and of course taped. In some cases the tape covers almost 100% of the box. I take pictures of eth box prior to it leaving. Of course additional customs declaration forms and shipping labels are placed inside the box in case it is opened. I have yet to know of a box that was opened but I guess it would be possible. I have not sent one to Croatia but I have sent saws to Russia, eastern block countries, and Africa. Of course all over central Europe, Australia, and South America

TRY sending anything to Croatia!
Trust me, You don't want to.

The one saw that came from the US to me took a detour over Greece.

I will send an item anywhere a man or woman wants one. I have no issues with any country.

As for a detour I guess you lost me with that. :confundio1: Greece and Croatia are less than 1000km apart so that is not much of a detour based on a shipment coming from the USA.

Here is what I call a detour. I sold a Stihl 084 muffler to a gentleman down in Australia about 15 years ago. Now anyone who knows how damn hard 084 mufflers are to find will grasp this. The guy was too damn cheap to pay for Priority and wanted it shipped Snail. The difference was a few bucks on a high dollar and hard to find part. I was amazed he was so cheap but I sent it USPS Snail per his wishes. Good ole USPS has 5 ISC's which are their "international shipping centers". All international shipments have to go through one of them. Currently they are New York, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. At the time I sent the muffler they had one in New Jersey. Common sense tells you a package going from Illinois to Australia should head west to the ISC at San Francisco. Oh no these jackwagons sent it to New Jersey. I kept watching the tracking figuring it would get routed back westward but it did not. Good ole USPS sent the muffler to France, yes France! Who in the hell ever thought France was anywhere close to Australia I will never know. I was on the phone every few nights with USPS. They admitted they screwed up but they said it was up to the French postal department to make it right and I was at the mercy of the French. I was hoping someone there would remember and appreciate June 6, 1944. It was about 2 months and the man in Australia finally did get his muffler but I spent many nights and many hours on the phone fighting so he could get it.

The moral is do not be cheap when shipping an item.

Is it the full wrap or the price shying everyone away? Let's be honest. I don't have any feelings anymore. 🤣
Feelings are overrated anyway. :)

I found out around Dec 21 2018 that my now X was meeting our daughter coming home from university at the airport near here, then they were going for Christmas to our house in Ottawa and I wasn’t invited
So I changed the transmission in my Topkick over Xmas.
Kinda killed Xmas feelings for me, never did get another Xmas with my daughter the X managed to turn her against me

That sucks!
I will never forget the afternoon of Friday September 16, 2022. One of my sons and I were driving home from work. As he was getting ready to drop me off I offhandedly ask him if he had big plans for the weekend. He was puzzled and said "well yeah Dad I am going to wedding Saturday night". I am taken back a bit. Of course I am thinking his Mom is probably getting married. I ask whose wedding and he says (pvt name) Well I am really dumbfounded now as she is my niece. It is my brother's daughter and she is marrying a great guy that was my shop student for 4 years. I knew they were getting married at some point but had not heard anything lately. By the way my brother is on the adjoining farm. At that point I am really not sure how to respond and I just say OK. Later that evening I am over near my brothers sitting alongside the road bullchitting with the neighbor. Another one of my sons came driving by and stopped to shoot the breeze. After the neighbor left that son and I stood there talking and I asked what the deal was with the wedding. I could tell he did not want to say much but he just said "well Mom does not want you there". Well I say "what in the hell does she have to do with it. It is my niece, not hers." Not wanting to push it I let it go and change the subject.

Now here is another kicker, next summer that son is getting married. How do ya think that will go??? :D
