He'd be better off throwing the Stihl in the mud to use as a stepping stone.

I say run it like you meant to use it. Cuttin stumps or bucking logs, a cut is a cut, just let the chain do the work.

Not Ewe Too!!

I assumed with your DeGree, you'd be a diehard StihlHead.

There was a change in Husqvarna after the 200 series: up to that point, it was a wash between the 2 brands.

Since then, nope. Not for me.

I use my ported 660 to flush cut stumps using a 28" bar (3/8 050). I ruined a bar cutting several big stumps. The bar wasn't getting enough oil....got to hot. I usually stop about half way through now and pour oil on the end of the bar. Usually the bottom of the bar seems to get the hottest. Going with a Cannon bar next 063 & 404.

A guy will spend $50 on a knife and will always keep it polished and clean...his buddy's will give him chit if they ever see a spot of rust on it. That same guy will spend $1200.00 on a power saw and get teased by those same guys for wiping it off.
I at least grab an old side cover out of the parts bin and an old bar when I do any stumping.

Not if the bar oil hole is big enough; that's the real restriction, 1/2 Splice.

Edit: added pictures.

As long as you know I do the same and don't mean to then we are all good heath

I'm trying to do better Dave.

There is no value in Picking on you because you've decided being on the other side of the fence benefits you & your family the most.

Now Back To the Hushee Banter.
