The one thing I've learned about owning a STIHL trimmer is that a tank vent not venting will cause the engine to run lean or rich depending on the fuel level in the tank. You can get the carb all dialed in on mixture and then as soon as the fuel level changes, the mixture settings you set it at are no longer relevant.
