Does anyone know if there's a reason I shouldn't run 32:1 in my Stihl 4-mix Combi's?
It will mean more oil....I run 40:1 in my FS-91 which is a 4-matic with no issues.Does anyone know if there's a reason I shouldn't run 32:1 in my Stihl 4-mix Combi's?
I use Harvest King...bottled by VP.I use VP and Aspen fuels.
They will indeed carbon up severely I've seen several that hasDoes anyone know if there's a reason I shouldn't run 32:1 in my Stihl 4-mix Combi's?
What about ash?I am using 32:1 Red Armor in my KM91, third season.
So far so good. It’s an experiment. I believe Red Armor is so good it will not build carbon on the valves so at some point it will be obvious if it does or doesn’t.
I don’t believe it will be an issue. It’s an experiment. What about ash?
I finally adjusted the valves on my fs100rx after 10 years of commercial use and an additional 10 years of residential use. They were very close to spec. Cam was good. Stihl 4-mix engines will run for decades on FB oil.I don’t believe it will be an issue. It’s an experiment.
Red Armor is different in my experience, from most every other oil.
If it carbons up eventually, I will post it here and on AS. Several folks are interested in the outcome. So far, I have never even adjusted the valves and the cam has shown no wear.

I saw this today... It's an srm-2620 with one year of commercial service running no oil except Red Armor....I don’t believe it will be an issue. It’s an experiment.

I’d be concerned if I had an engine with that much carbon. Most trimmers I work on that have had RA run through are way cleaner than that. Looks like he doesn’t use the trimmer hard enough to get it hot.I saw this today... It's an srm-2620 with one year of commercial service running no oil except Red Armor....
I used it on my br800 and it left a varnish on the piston crown but I had iffy gas so I'm gonna try again.I’d be concerned if I had an engine with that much carbon.
