has anyone tested this new chain vs 63ps on a 261? I have a 16 inch 3/8p .050 60 dl stihl bar for 261 and its pretty fast. I prefer the 346xp variants over any 50cc saw though

the bars are d009 mounts, this was brand new chain i just made up off a full roll. i have never run into this before. at full count the tension adjustment is just about maxed out with out running the saw.
You need about 6 drive links minimum to even get the chain on the bar and sprocket at the same time, unless you pop the sprocket off and assemble it as one unit. I have alot of McCulloch saws and their 20 " bar takes 70dl , it would be physically impossible to mount a 70dl chain on a 72dl D009 bar and then mount it without disassembling the sprocket, something is off ?

I do not know bars are marked 72 for 20" 3/8X.050 and 84 for the 24" Forester bars pro series, and are D009 mount listed under husky bars. the slot width is correct. chains are getting oil so that's seems ok also ( although I almost always open up & slot the oil spot on the bars ) chain slot width in bar is correct also. as a note had to use 83 links on 24" and 70 on the 20. it is definitly the bar as the previous chain was from the same roll just on windsor bars same drive count72,84 per bar

I’ve run both on a stock and ported 261 with a 20” cannon super mini bar mostly as a climbing saw. Years ago had the kit from stihl which came with the bar, chain and sprocket. I prefer the 23rs pro never did any timed cuts though. ps or ps3 can be hard to find up here most dealers I’ve dealt with only carry the pm which doesn’t make sense when climbing or working out of a bucket.

I think for a limbing saw and ground work the ps or ps3 isn’t worth the hassle, durability wise

I have run rs pro on my 261 since late last year on a Stihl 04 light bar and really like it. I am looking forward to trying it out on a bigger powerhead.

Cool. Is it readily available out your way?
How has it been to touch up?

Readily available in round ground, not sure if NK is square? I use a 2 in 1 and it is very quick and efficient while retaining very good cutter geometry in my opinion. Every other time or so I hit the gullet with a normal round file.

Bought these loops at my Stihl dealer here. If you can't find any I can look into it.
Though the dealer did not have the exact size I needed. They took an "in stock" size
and cut it down to match my bar. I wish you well in your search. As always its much better
to find stuff local if you can. It invests in your local economy and helps local business.
It,s the standard here in Canada, 058&063 is not
