The OP may be better off looking into an Oregon bar or some other brand that
is shorter than the one currently on his saw, one that will work with the number of links in a standard rs pro chain, I just can’t see Stihl making a chain that won’t
fit the corrosionding bar either, if they did everyone would be in serious bother.

Finally got the connecting and drive links from @jmester . Got the extra link added. Cuts awesome on my 036. Although the regular .325 that I square filed cuts better. It cuts great for a stock chain!

Did you ever find out why your dealership couldn't order any?

@RI Chevy nope never figured it out. I'm not gonna lie tho, I stopped checking after the first time because I was so fed up with the whole deal. It is a nice chain tho. I'll check and see if we're able to order it on Monday. That and the light 04 and 06 bars that haven't been released yet....

TY. Seems like only the Big Stihl dealers can get the chain. Shame on Stihl for not having the chain in the system for every seller.

I got a couple of the light 04 bars. Thinking you may have to get an overseas member to get you any of those bars.

It depends on dealer support I guess, which here in New England is iffy for pro saw related stuff... it seems geared towards more homeowners stuff and landscaping tools. The biggest saw on the shelf is usually a ms391 farmboss or ms362. Lol

I don't measure David. Just go by feel. This chain is real good though. Perfect for up to 50cc saws.

The 04 light bars are readily available in Canada, I’m currently running it on a 20”narrow kerf cannon mini on a 261 arctic CFB did for me. The older Windsor tips interchange even though there shorter, the quality of the cannon tips have improved so no real need.

ran into a funny one over the weekend 6400 Dolmar Forester pro 20", 24" bar 3/8/x .050 chain. 20" bar calls for 72 drive links- too long 70 works fine, same saw same chain type 24" bar calls for 84, nope tool long 83 works, 82 is just a bit to short. Now the old Windsor bars were fine with 72/84 links but they are a bit more width in the belly. the kicker is the 32" bar works with stated drive link count- go figure.

Might not be a D009 mount bar. Or the chains are stretched out

the bars are d009 mounts, this was brand new chain i just made up off a full roll. i have never run into this before. at full count the tension adjustment is just about maxed out with out running the saw.
