I’m fixing up an 034 for a buddy and I have now found a 3rd rendition of the oil pump for the model. I wanted him to have a side adjust case and knew I had an extra 036 case lying around.
The usual oil pump is the 1/4 turn cam adjust type we all know.
The last oddity I’ve seen until now was an old 034S pump with a slotted screw to adjust which made multiple revolutions and bottomed out on the case. Seemed to be the highest output pump.
I found this unfortunately yesterday. A pump with no adjustment on a case without an adjustment hole. I have to grind a slot in the case to actually fit the adjustable pump on it as well as bring the rail to access the screw. The case lacked the extra webbing around the adjust hole as well. Seem like it should hold up.
Very odd indeed. Figured I’d share.
