Hey Guys, i have Stihl 026 i was doing up for a friend, passes all tests, vacuum/pressure of crankcase and same with fuel tank, all seems in good condition for its age,
It has a Walbro wt194 carb fitted, new genuine repair kit, and main jet, My concern is with the settings of the carb,
The low is at 3/4 turn out and high is only at 1/2 turn out, in my mind the saw should be running real high, as the settings seem lean, but it isn't the saw runs real nice
The idle tested at 3100 rpm (stihl say 2800rpm) any less and it doesn't sound great and starts to chug and after 30 seconds or so will die out at idle, i think 3100 is ok and chain doesn't spin so i'm fine with it a little higher than spec
The high tested at 13,500 - 13,700rpm (stihl say 14,000) i'm fine with this i do prefer it slightly under what stihl say,
My issue is that the carb is way off what stihl say it should be, stihl says 1 turn for each low and high for rough tune, with mine being 3/4 on low and 1/2 on high does this not seem to be a long way off, yet the saw runs nice for an older type.
