a two piece head can be made for a work saw. but it will cost far more then one for a race saw.

Oem on the left with squish band trued up. Custom head on right with what is close to 1/2 of bore as squish band. Test is in progress. Maybe a gain there? Maybe not worth the extra work and variables to achieve?
