Stihl Ultra. The exhaust smell makes me feel manly and it keeps the mosquitos away... Seriously, it doubled my warranty on a new saw years ago and I kept running it since.

That's at 300:1 or something who runs that ratio in a saw. I'm sure at 40:1 most oils are more than adequate for a chainsaw. The testing didn’t necessarily agree with that. Some failed pretty miserably right out the gate.

Any ideal of what kind of problems the logger had with XP+, a lot of peopleI talked to a logger last year that had lots of issues running xp + . He went to red armor. I’ve been running xp+ and will be switching after talking to him. My first pick would be Schaffer’s but it’s not available here
Thats because it DOMINATES them all....HP2, amsoil dominator and motul 300v have been my goto oils. I work on a local tree companies fleet of saws and they run the dominator also, they have never had oil related problems in to 10 years of operation
Do we have a link to that thread?Long story, but if you want the straight poop a member here did extensive testing to destruction and found amsoil dominator to be the best. Red armor protects well too but may hurt power. Supertech synthetic is probably the best value.
