Not me but my niece and her husband ended up buying the John deere
I'm guessing it's a 1020
If anyone knows it has a gas engine with wet lines
Has a little over 900 hour's IMG_20230108_134931258.jpg
We did have to put points in it
Runs and operates perfectly
Has a Ford 8ft flail mower.

Got a stihl ms038AV super yesterday! Looks like I need everything that goes on after the carb. Piston and cylinder look decent except for some slight carbon scoring. Time to find parts and build another project saw!

Bought this to play with. Dolpima PS190 from Poland.

Think I did OK for £20 ($24). It doesn't look to have had much use. The underside is almost pristine, so it hasn't been idled while standing on concrete much. The recoil starter needs sorting out.

@Partner are these any good? 90cc but only 4hp I believe? So slow cutting and lots of torque? It is wearing .404 chain on what looks like the original bar.

Nice. Looks like it was once owned by the state or county based on the yellow paint.

I don't have a South Bend brand lathe but I thought it would still apply to other lathes.
I have that same Southbend book...the biggest thing for me is just learning tooling. Use of the lathe is pretty straightforward for the simple projects I'm doing(saw cylinders and making spacers,) but grinding tooling, different profiles, etc are the things I could learn more about.

I’ve been a Tool & Die maker for 39 years, ya never stop learning ways to improve, it’s a lifetime lesson.

I actually bought this last week, but got this mill/drill last week...It's a Jet copy of the ubiquitous Rong Fu RF-30. I didn't necessarily want a round column, but I got the mill/drill with a pretty HD rolling stand for only $250, so I couldn't say no. I've already got plans to address the limitations of the round column. It's already been handy for machining out the inner baffles on Stihl mufflers.

I know little about John deere's we always ran Ferguson
But I was told it's a industrial tractor
I'll post a pic when it's cleaned up
It's minty
The late owner had it 40+ year's I'm told.

Bought a light duty hanging scale so I could weigh some things. Tested it out on some saws (all weighed dry).

Stihl 034 with 16" Light 04 bar
- 15.2 lbs
Stihl 046 with 20" ES bar
- 19.3 lbs
Stihl 500i with 28" ES Light bar
- 18.8 lbs

Now I know why I like the 500i so much.

Holy smokes......... that's a steal for 250. I had one and sold it........good little mill. There's some simple yet effective solutions to the round columns. I had a laser pointer on mine. Honestly, I wish I'd have kept mine. Good score.
