I bought the same dogs for my 572g as well, they are really aggressive, looks awesome too :)
I really like them so far . I only used them twice , once on Saturday and Monday after work . I might get some more for some of my other saws .

I’ve always wanted a Dolmar/Makita 7900. I did a quick google search and was kinda surprised to see them for sale on Amazon. I ended up ordering one with the heated handles.

How cold is your winter that ya need heated handles?

I like cutting in the cold because I can wear my heavy cotton duck bibs and the thorns dont bother and there are no bugs. I will cut firewood all winter long in temps below zero. I prefer the cold to heat and sweating.

Tick removal tools/aids

IMG_20220527_132446.jpg

The stainless steel tweezers+shovel tool works on both small and big ticks.
The plastic pliers tool works only on bigger ticks.

Pup is too sweet, keeps attracting ticks - I will have to bathe her with flea/tick shampoo. She won't be happy about it, but it is for both our and her good.

Our welder like that was the fix all on the farm for about 25 years.
My kid brother has been using one for about 25 years, before that it belonged to my wife's grandpa, who used it for I have no idea how long...
They ain't nothin fancy, but they seem to always work, without no complaints!

@huskihl He's building it from parts he has and porting it as well. So everything with the 394 will be coming from him.

You won't be disappointed.
Kevin built me one from his parts bin with a cylinder and some other bits I sent him earlier this year.
New nachis, meteor piston... bet I have 25 gallons through her already.

Awesome! It will be my first ported saw and by first, I mean I've never even ran a ported saw. So, it should be a pretty wild ride. Lol It should be more than adequate for my needs.

Id bet that that 394 is gonna be stronger after porting than the factory 3120.

I hope so, because if I'm being honest, I was expecting a bit more out if the 3120, even in stock form. I only have a tank through it, so that's probably part of it too. I got to do the normal mods to it and it'll be better I'm sure, but I figured It'd at least pull a 36 inch full comp without issue and it was lacking IMO. My 660 pulling a 36 inch skip tooth pulls harder than the 3120 does, at least it feels like it to me and my 660 is stock too.

I kind of think about the 3120 like a Stihl 090 ,there's mountains of potential there you just have to coax it out. When I first heard about a 3120 I had already used a 395xp for milling and some cutting and naturally assumed it would be just like that but 30ccs more, not so.
I think some of the restriction is epa equipment but also what the intention of the saw was from the factory, like purpose. Anyway I'd say that they take a little more work than the 394/395 out of the box to be the saw I thought they'd be.

That's what a lot of other folks said too. I'm kinda like you, I figured for a 119cc saw I'd be impressed, because even though a lot of people talk down on a stock 660, I like it and I'm never let down by it with a 36" bar, even stumping a 3' locust tree. I don't know.

I knew there was a chance I'd have to work it over some. I was just kinda hoping it was just people used to ported saws and it would seem good enough to me. I have a dual port muffler and I reckon I need to change the coil and get the car high jet done and it'll be better and I can go from there.

I definitely take saw bias with a grain of salt, but my expectations can be wildly misplaced.
There's a few saws I've rebuilt and run that are generally disliked for some odd reasons, So I usually reserve my opinion till I run them. The Stihl MS441 and Husqvarna 77 taught me that.
