Very, very close to buy 200A tig welder

Today I made parts for 320cm x 75cm table to my workshop. Also bought parts for 8 pcs of 230VAC 16A power outlets.
Compressor with 50L reservoir is waiting in the garage.
Handheld 2stage compressor will take its place.

This tinkering with chainsaws is getting serious. Thinking about different ways to build cheap diy dyno for chainsaws is very very appealing way to fall asleep.
Now it looks like it could be rpm sensor, loadcell, torsion arm, hydraulic pump as brake, 2 channel datalogger for data acquisition kind of thing. Actual horsepower would then be calculated in a spreadsheet program.

After burning up and melting 2 clutch covers with chainbrakes, I bought this modded muffler off ebay. It's for a early model husqvarna 51 or 55 and also works on the 55 rancher I think, basically he said he designed it because of "melting chain brakes" Also opens things up a bit, it's not too radical and I have not mounted it to the saw yet. If you google muffler mod husqvarna 55 (or any other popular saw) it will get you to the Ebay page most likely. An OEM muffler costs 100$ roughly (brand new) and an OEM Chainbrake/Clutch Cover is about 75$, that's more than I paid for the whole saw but I think the chainbrake had already melted off when I bought it used, and I went through 2 more, think they were aftermarket covers.

Finally got a tachometer so I can set the idle screws and max rpm's, see where everything's at, etc... Numerous suppliers for this PET-304 tach. I have a 372 with a brand new OEM case, brand new P/C, original carb. Don't want to mess that one up, next up is probably a pressure tester of some kind, I do have a vacuum bleeder MityVac but it has no gauge on it.

I probably could have bought a brand new chainsaw by this time! Have to learn the hard way I suppose. I like the old Husqvarna's I guess.

This will be my chainsaw before picture... Melted parts and missing bar nuts, missing hand brake, etc. That's a new bar and chain anyways! Kindof looks as if the original muffler was leaking at the seams and melted the top cover as well as the handbrake... Have not pulled the old muffler yet until I get the new muffler gasket in the mail.

Frontier PG11 pallet fork grapple. Rather excited about this little guy. Bolts onto pallet forks and I can pick up logs and cut them without bending over 😁

Put a quality heat tape under that cover and that will help, not the tin foil type. Looks like you are missing a bar nut also.

I bought that same tach several years ago, though it's not Echo branded. It is Pet-304, though. It was ~$80 shipped.

I don't know if it's worth paying $100 or more instead of $15 🤠

I got it for 69.99 plus a 10% discount. There are lot's of very similar PET-304 tachometers online from various suppliers. I tried to find a good price on a used one but they are priced so reasonably no one seems to sell them used very often, or I couldn't find any. The place I got it from rhymes with "sawsuppliers.com" and I don't think it would be right to post a link on this site. (It's run by a competitor to them)

After I got it I realized there are numerous places that sell them about the same price point. Then it comes down to shipping costs and sales taxes, stuff like that. Hope that helps, I don't think they make much money selling them, it's just for the customers benefit and they sell Echo Chainsaws as well. But the same tach sold by Stihl is way more expensive! Go figure... Unless it's on sale, sometimes they have a sale and prices come down.

I saw some good reviews on you tube for this tachometer so that's why I chose it. Didn't want to go too cheap, nor too high end. Felt this was the "goldilocks" tachometer for my needs! Might not work for everyone...

Well Happy Easter! The sun is out again so who needs firewood until next August or so! Lol...

Chinese can make some good chit if they want too.
Just got this & opened it by the campfire.
I had one before & liked it & my buddy wanted it bad so I traded it to him.
Neoteck brand, all stainless steel, they are pretty nice for $20/shipped!
Measures in fractions also.
Neoteck has thousands of sales on ebay with 100% positive feedback for good reason.
Even came with feeler gauges to keep it honest! Lol

Magnet gripper $2
Man I could have used one of those things so many times working on my cars or truck! Sometimes I can see the part or screw down there but I cant get to it, and even the magnet by itself won't always get the part if its right next to something else made of steel. That little gripper with the magnet too! That's a good score right there... I might have to get me one of those deals, 2$ !!! You're killing me... Garage Sale or flea market?

I ten mały chwytak z magnesem! To dobry wynik... Być może będę musiał zdobyć jedną z tych ofert, 2 $ !!! Dobijasz mnie... Wyprzedaż garażowa czy pchli targ?
Hyper market, that's new / Terminator is advertised by this network
