So i bought 3 of these 288s a 372xt And a 372xp
I'm making a couple of 288 lite's the best of the 288s
Great looking and handling Lowtop with no longbar spring mount.
24" bar's i run do not need it

My big box of bars arrived today, 16" McCulloch branded D176 mount.

They were delivered to my house and my wife called to say I needed to move the box so it wouldn't get wet. I asked her to set it inside the door and she told me she couldn't move it.

These are the older D176 mount that McCulloch identified as SMB with no oiler hole.

No need. On the McCulloch saws the oiler dumps into the top "adjuster" hole which extends to the groove in the bar. I'm not sure which saws require the independent oiler hole.

They've lengthened the slot on the newer bars as well, but the shorter slot on the top one still gets the end of the bar right up to the sprocket on the 10 and 600 Series saws. Again, not sure which saws require the longer slot.

11-18 I ordered some Knipex stuff. Yesterday it show up missing the 16” Cobras which was the only thing I really needed out of the order. Now it’s email tag for a replacement. I like how fedex didn’t include the destroyed box in the delivery photo.0FD1F5B6-9BE8-4DA5-A514-A5D10B8BED64.jpegC9D8A81A-DA1C-46C1-ADB3-B134996E9277.jpeg9F54594F-797E-4902-9016-5798A787E089.png

I have some gedore wrenches that someone scrapped. I don’t think they knew what they were. They’re nice. The 15/16 gets used hard bolting flanges together with an impact on the other side. People like scrapping proto, sk, old crescent and the European stuff for some reason. They’ll scrap entire ridgid 300 setups

I was in Krakow and looked for tools to bring back but didn’t see anything for sale. I did find a lot to eat. The only builder store I saw was somewhere on the way to Auschwitz but our private car became a shared car so I didn’t ask for any detours.

This set is awesome for driveway wrenching. I just got a second one. I have one in my junkyard grab bag and wanted another one so my bag doesn’t get unloaded and spread across my garage when I need it in a pinch. This and a 3/8 stubby impact can do most of what you need to do except some bigger truck stuff. $59.99 on scamazon, Home Depot and Lowe’s. I used my first set hard for three years and haven’t broken anything.

So I'll say I really like these depth gauges. Compared to the Oregon ones it's night and day. After a the top hardening on the Oregon's go they wear like soap cutting down. These ones have some wear on the finish but no sign of significant wear on the metal.

I also love where they cut at a slant so there's no going back around cutting the square corner from the Oregon and the gauge the raker per tooth where the Oregon spans between multiple teeth.
