Good eye. I've got a few Wilton vises. Those two I have not found a spot for yet. Quality US made iron is one of my weaknesses.
I have a 3 1/2 and 4 inch on opposite ends of my bench now. I have a pile of reed, craftsman, Columbian, littlestown etc. I rescued a bunch from the scrapyard. Can’t get anything good off the shelf anymore unless you want to spend a fortune.

I bought a couple of these 288s a blue and a orange to play with they were on sale for 176.00 shipped IMG_20240102_150839.jpg
Solid saw i went through it
And checked everything.
pull rope was far to short so i replaced it with true blue 4.5 rope
My friend ordered i don't know how many 288s 395s and 372 xt and xps to be shipped to my house so his wife doesn't find out lol
The 395s are 286.00 shipped the 372s are 153.00 shipped.
Always losing bits so i got these 4" long 4mm to work on saws

See how someone welded well 😉 I don't know what a 2mm brass tube or something like that is. And what looks like Casolin powder is in a different package

I didn't buy it today, but I did get approved today so I was able to go pick it up. It was in NFA jail 202 days.

EDIT: I was having issues posting, This time of night my internet goes in and out so I left out my impressions trying to get the photo loaded.

It's a HUXWRX (HUZK WERKS) Ca$H 9k suppressor also known as OSS. Dumb renaming convention on the brand and this specific model also having a dumb name, They split off their original name for military/government and civilian purchases but the products are the same.

It is a short can, there is a longer option model that can switch back and forth between configurations. But I didn't see me wanting the longer option, even though the longer is quieter.

I'm very pleased with it, It's report is noticeable, but the tone is deep. The deeper tones are easier on the ears. I had originally looked at the SilencerCO omega 9k but I wanted something lighter. This ended up fitting the bill and it was on sale at the time of purchase making it cheaper than the silencerCO option. (I will also say my hearing isn't the greatest, but I didn't notice any ringing in my ears using 165gr subsonic ammo that I reload).

The machining inside is well done, and in the limited time I've had it, I'm happy with the purchase.

I don't know if you can put the puller legs under the flywheel, they are quite thick. I'll take a photo of you later, my legs are steel and ground

Sounds like you let the voices win. *Whispering into your ear, Just use a screwdriver, pry it off, do it*
I've done this befor several times without problems. Some scratches but nothing broken. But at this saw the crank case is made of very thin material and now there is a very little crack inside the case where I put the screw driver outside...
But I learned my lesson, some special tools you really need to got work done properly

I’ve had reasonable success putting minor leverage under a flywheel and then whacking the crank with a punch and hammer. No need to pry like crazy. Same with the removal tool. Just tighten it up and then whack the screw.

Most Stihls have some sort of threaded area for a puller, other brands often don’t. The punch and hammer method is standard for many brands. Used in combination with some pressure from a lever or puller and they almost always come loose easily.

I once was working on a Briggs twin and needed to get the flywheel off. Even though it had tapped holes, it wasn't budging. Finally and with great trepidation I whacked it with a BFH and it popped right off.
