Last Saturday our skidloader burned.... I was using all morning and i parked it in the barn like i have a 1,000 time and went to the house. I was in the house 15-20 min. and my oldest came running in saying the skidloaders on fire!!!! luckly my brother was at the farm working on his jeep and seen smoke and got the hose and put the fire out. The fire didn't hurt one thing in the barn. There's about 100-125 round bales in the barn right now.
In the picture you can see a place under the barn where we park the loader.
I didn't want to post in tell I heard if the Insurance was going to cover it and they are!

I hope the dealer can pick it up this week and start rebuilding it. It was some phone tag to get everyone on the same page and hope it just gets fixed somewhat fast...

Hard to like. Glad they're fixing it though. When you get used to doing things a certain way it becomes difficult or impossible to change

@czar800 That's a close call buddy. You might want to get that horse shoe you have in your azz polished. You got extremely lucky. Good to hear everything is going to be taken care of. I've seen a couple barn fires. They arnt pretty to say the least.

Any livestock in the barn?

I saw a pig barn go up once. Trust me hearing a barn full of pigs burning is a sound you won't ever forget

I did look around some for used parts and yes there available. I buy a lot of parts from the link below, they know tractor parts and have I aways got what I needed. I'm just glad I don't have to fix it.

I can only think something electrical started it..... It didn't start down low or near the motor that's all undamaged. Had to be something in all the overhead electrical maybe?

There was a dairy barn right where that one is standing it burned in 96' so I know about large barn fires. There were only seven cows and one pig in the barn that burned.

There's about 8 steers in the barn right now.

I am sorry to see this. Thankfully you have insurance, so many people I know choose to roll the dice
instead of having ins. I personally have all of my stuff insured, my luck is not that good.

I am really surprised the ins. company would fix this also, given current labor rates and parts cost.
Either way if they take care of you, it's a good thing!

Yes I'm happy also that they decided to cover it. When I met with the adjuster he said if there was any paint at all damaged on the boom of the loader that it would be totaled because of possible heat damage.

We keep all our equipment itemized and covered in our insurance policy. This is the first claim since the fire in 1996. On the phone I was waiting for them to give me a hard time about something, but everyone has been great. They even said I could get a rental machine if needed.

That sucks. I had a truck burn down years ago and lost a MS660, 039, Husky 55 and 346xp along with several other tools and a few firearms... When I gave the adjuster the itemized list (to the best of my recollection) he asked me if I was a professional logger, LMAO. I said no, it's a hobby. They were a bit skeptical to say the least...

Well after many phone calls this thing is finally on it's way to get fixed. I'm hauling it to Highway equipment after work tomorrow.
Thankfully I upgraded to wireless remote control for the tilting trailer, was able to load it alone.
