It has a screen as do most my other saws.

So a 390 or 372 with the front exit I see people do all the time... even with any kind of screen it will set the wood on fire. Now that’s a kind of muffler mod I stay away from. Fine for a play saw... not for a worksaw. Plus the noise is much louder than ports on the side.

Here to and if for some reason a fire starts where you were cutting they come get you and have a nice ride in the patrol car. Not something I would want to deal with just to cut a tree down or for fire wood. Lol

Yes put them back in they don't hurt as long as you keep them clean.lol.

They will almost never get dirty provided two things... you don’t run tcw3 oil and you tune it properly.

I use Emt
1/2”-50cc
3/4”-70cc
1”-90cc

Lol I’m kidding I just made that up.

3/4” on 50cc and 1” on anything bigger. Some 70 and 90 got 2-1” ones [emoji23]

That would work good on the 572 muffler too if one wanted to open it more than I did and retain the screen still. Wonder if the 550 mk2 muffler is like the 572 muffler? The 572 muffler is entirely different than the old 562/550 muffler internally. Much easier to gut.
