So a 390 or 372 with the front exit I see people do all the time... even with any kind of screen it will set the wood on fire. Now that’s a kind of muffler mod I stay away from. Fine for a play saw... not for a worksaw. Plus the noise is much louder than ports on the side.

Same here you lose ya saw and the fine is in the 4 figures
Here to and if for some reason a fire starts where you were cutting they come get you and have a nice ride in the patrol car. Not something I would want to deal with just to cut a tree down or for fire wood. Lol

That would work good on the 572 muffler too if one wanted to open it more than I did and retain the screen still. Wonder if the 550 mk2 muffler is like the 572 muffler? The 572 muffler is entirely different than the old 562/550 muffler internally. Much easier to gut.
