Well, the Blue Beast (ported Cross cylinder on a Meteor Piston on an Asian saw) runs like one now! Put a new B+C on it (after the insulator did the old chain in) and removed the muffler baffle and opened her up. She runs strong, but had to unscrew the Hi 2 full turns … she is gonna burn some fuel!

Noodled some Red Oak rounds real nicely though!

Need to pull it back off and repaint it. Put it on this morning and it was going to eat the left side of the brake handle for breakfast if I ran it. Pulled it back off and put two small pieces of pipe on to make sure everything came out the front.

If I let it cut it will hold 10,800 easy , leaning on it it will get to about 9600 and stay there pulls nice and strong.
Ear ringer now for sure

Those of you doing tube mods, are you just using a hole saw on the muffler body?
I’ve been drilling a hole then filing to size.

Hoping my welding tips come in soon, hard to get your heat exactly where you want it with a cutting torch flame while brazing. Brass goes everywhere since so much area heats up. Have an “0” and a 2 coming. It’s hard to believe that I started out 20 yrs ago welding with oxy acetylene on exhaust systems. Bosses mig welder was broken and he refused to fix or replace it. I still believe to this day OA makes the best exhaust welds.

I drill as big as I can and then file or use a burr in a die grinder.

I just use big burr bits in die grinders. I tig all my mufflers. Way easier for me.

Tig is a ways off for me have to be happy w my tweco 211i and Miller ac/dc stick.
I guess I could get the tig setup for the 211i I just remembered while typing this that it does lift start tig. HMMMMM can’t do nonferrous but certainly can do muffler mods.

Edit I just ordered up the TIG Kit for it. Time to get that little party started.
