What did you use for the flange?

I was trying to test muffler mods on the Blue Beast, but the wood did not seem to be consistent (Black Oak log).

Dallas wins!!! You should be able to pop up my pics. The insulator is about an inch in diameter with a metal screw (which resulted in the black stain).

ive seen them used for low voltage for lighting in old barn and for speakers when they had a thing called the radio ranch here where people came to sing

That's what I was figured Dallas some lighting to a barn or out building. Second guess was for Minny Pearl![emoji16]

This area used to be a big Dairy Farm area, and Borden Condensed Milk was located in Brewster, NY. Then, NYC condemned a lot of the land and created numerous reservoirs for NYC drinking waster. Many of the farms were displaced, and Borden moved their operation.

Funny, I remember my Dad using condensed milk in coffee etc when I was a kid. Likely, it is what they had in the Army, as it did not need refrigeration.

I think in Julian's recent video (462/572) he says something about TM not liking front exit … something about loosing torque … hey, maybe I'm not crazy!!!

I have found this to be true as well. of the 2 550 MK2's that I've ported, the muffler with the opened up top exit with a red97 deflector made more power over the muffler i did where its right out the front. Top exit muffler mod also sounded better in my opinion.

Yup... they're commonly referred to as "house knobs". Many times they were used in 3's and each had a single wire tied to it that carried 120v or served as neutral

I'll keep my eyes open while splitting, but my saw did not find any more of them in that log, and most of it has been split. There was some evidence of several insulated wires, so I think they just ran it all to the one insulator.
