Bought a handful of the HMWF deflectors, no stock muffler is safe in this shop now. MS170 got it tonight. Muffler just has the stock perforated portion opened up, it's not quite as wide open as it looks.

Pay attention to the brake handle and the side of the plastic crankcase. I’ve done it before on 039 and the side of the case started to melt

Well, didn't get melty on me but it did do a great job covering the side of the saw in exhaust residue. Added a little flap to redirect the exhaust away from the side of the case, more better.

400 muffler front. Already made the factory outlet bigger.

This alloy is the worst I’ve welded ever. Seems to reject every filler, even with the coating removed. It sure doesn’t like SiBr at all. 309 SS filler seams to be ok. It’s quite frustrating cause I prefer welded over screw rivet deflectors.

My 446 hybrid. Pipe deflector. I'm liking these for now. They clear everything nicely, don't stain the case or clutch cover, and don't burn the hands when stumping and bucking. My tig welding still suffers miserably, on steel. So 309 wire in the mig with grinding.

Would anybody be up to adding more deflector to the factory outlet for my 400c? PM me if you can. Thanks

Did you try tig brazing? I would like to think that would stick fine(?). Or is that what SiBr is?
