Thanks fellas, but I believe that anyone that welds MUST be their own worst critic ! It’s the only way to keep honing that edge, and I definitely see room for improvement, especially in the fitup. That will make the playing with liquid & welder settings a little easier

I'd be happy with those welds. Stop looking at those perfect stack of dimes welds people post when the material is perfectly clean and so is the part fit!

I faintly remember Doc saying he had some of that for you?:nusenuse:
He cut pretty much everything .........

Ive got a blowdown that should work out pretty good, it’s a little dangerous, but with a days cutting, the big section will be safe and ready for dropping. Pictures just can’t show the size and difficulty of this thing. The wind twisted it as it went over, but the trunk broke at chest height, and kept a good hold on it too. I’ma see if I can get a few pictures tomorrow

Not a fan of the nostrils ....?????

They do a great job of getting the exhaust away from the operator and his hands

I have no experience with ‘nostrils’ plural, I do like the singular ‘nare’

Just can’t really cut stumps with any pipe on the pto side, havta go single pipe out the flywheel side

Excellent point. That’s why I stump with a ragged old 288. The muffler in the pic is on a 371 that I’m partial to for some reason, but she don’t stump.
