My father in law surprised me with this. He had some leftover walnut so he thought this would be something I would appreciate. I think it's amazing.

Stihl make some nice axes. I like the metal collar they put on there to protect the handle.
Ya I have the Stihl Pro Forestry Axe but its alil short for splitting at 27" for me. More of a wedge driver and cleaning notch axe so Im lookin for alil better splitting axe

I like this splitting axeView attachment 43864

This is probably my favorite. Stihl Pro Splitting Axe with 32" handle and 5.5lb headView attachment 43867

Those are the same axes just different colors. Gedore Ochsenkopf makes them for Stihl and paints them a different color.

Ya the Stihl Forestry axe I have is Ochsenkopf. Very good quality. The Stihl splitting axe is 99 vs 139 for the Oxhead. Stihl seems a very good deal?

Yeah, the Stihl can be found cheaper then the Ochsenkopf.

I had the Ochsenkopf version for a while, got it on sale at baileys with a coupon, worked out to be a little less then the stihl colored one. Great quality axe, split well.

I would like to have one of these, but they are not available in the USA, Canada and overseas only, so far. Maybe stihl will bring them to he USA soon?
