Ended up buying the Gransfors Bruks 445 31.5" splitting axe. Pics in a few days when she arrives

Be anxious to here your thoughts still undecided which way to go in my search for a splitting axe.

Hook up with somebody that has a few different kinds and try them for yourself. All comes down to personal preference. The Fiskars X27 is hard to beat for the money. And the performance that you get out of it.

Wish I could get some good replacement handles up here . Company in MO with awesome hickory handles but they won't ship up here !!
Got a double bit , a broad and a firemans' axe I'd like to rehang sometime .

I get my handles and wedges from beaver-tooth. They sell handles for all axe types and their hickory is nice quality. Every handle I've got from them the grain has been tight and straight up and down. They're located in Tennessee. Pretty sure they ship anywhere.
