I have a real nice 2065 I need to change the crank in lower rod bearing let go.
That's a nice Saw! I have a 2077 that I'm missing a few parts to have it complete... Chain brake stuff and I think an oiler or a sleeve for the crank/seal??? It's been a while.

Going to be some confused people now, first saw with mtronic and intellicarb wrapped into one. I’m wondering if Stihl screwed up though and this is supposed to be on the ms 363 since the carb looks to be standard adjustment. But in the 400.1 description on the Stihl uk site.

This generic picture just illustrates more or less the principle of this feature. You will find it everywhere in the descriptions of saws that are equipped with it, starting with the MS 170 or MS 162.

Generally, Stihl chainsaws with M-Tronic are classified as having a compensator. MS 241 & 261 as an example:

Pretty sure the 362 or bigger mtronics don’t though.

Maybe it should say compensated, not compensator? MTronic compensates for everything under the sun with precious few samplings or parameters.

If you believe the information on Stihl's websites about the presence of a compensator in the MS 400.1, you would probably have to agree with the pages about the MS 362 C-M or other “big” chainsaws reporting its presence in them.

It all depends, of course, on the definition of compensator aka IntelliCarb. And indeed, in some catalogs Stihl does not state that IntelliCarb exists on saws with M-Tronic.

Personally, I'm almost 100% sure that in this respect the MS 400.1 is no different from other saws with M-Tronic.

I also believe that the determinant of whether a particular saw actually has a (true) compensator should be where the outside of the metering diaphragm is connected. If it is connected to the air box (behind the air filter) and subjected to the pressure that exists there, then we are dealing with a compensator.
I think this is the case for MS 362 C-M and the current MS 400 at least.
