It was the problem here.
Edit: or possibly a half dull half sharp?
I thought it had carb issues and switched carbs and inspected fuel lines etc with no different results.Sounded like it had other issues. So with a sharp chain that saw is ok now?

After ruling all that out I put the chain on the grinder and filed the rakers. Went back to wood pile and it did great. It didnt make sense because I have had uneven chains cut to one side or other. But this one cuts great now and i gave it to my brother for Christmas and he has ran several tanks threw it with no issues.
Btw i made the video to post here for advice but got it going so never uploaded to youtube until today.
Sounds to me like it needs 1/4 turn out on the h jet. It's leanI thought it had carb issues and switched carbs and inspected fuel lines etc with no different results.

Now you guys are making me feel like i am telling one of my fishing stories.
I am still just a hack. You guys are the real experts. Next time i am at my brothers i will fire up the saw again and see if the problem came back. I guess binding would be the only answer chain related and the video was shot before i had touched the chain or bar. Btw sorry to OP for derail of thread. If you were new here I'd say no way. But I know you know your way around a saw. I've never had a chain slow a saw like that unless it was binding from cutting crooked. Usually saw just screams and doesn't cut anything. Lol.
I'm sure I'm missing something. Hence the had to be there...

Uneven guides will cause binding also, very well could have been your issue.I am still just a hack. You guys are the real experts. Good point ! I assumed the newer one .Is this about the 240 from the 1970s (a small pro saw with a metal case), or is it about the more current Poulan made POS one?
