I’ll try it out in some harder wood today.What's this one saw plan you speak of.
It does look strong, popping seems odd for sure.
Is that cottonwood, have you tried it in something harder yet. Not questioning the hardness of the wood it obvious it's not the hardest, just curious if you hear the popping as much.
Poplar is not very hard at all. I use as test wood because the harder stuff is better to burn and I don’t wanna ruin it all by making cookies.
I got it from a tree service that dropped off some logs here. He asked if I wanted some tulip. At first I said no, then Definitive Dave told me to grab it because that’s what cants are made from. I’m glad I did or there wouldn’t be anything left to split.

Solo has a Tillotson. Dolmar has an RWJ. I may go back in and raise the exhaust on the 665 a touch. Solo is at about 220psi. Dolmar is right at 200 psi. Wood is sweet gum that was cut down last week. Still pretty wet

The Dolmar pulls a 9T fine but it was about a second faster with the 8T. A big thank you to Keith @Deets066. I was having a problem going lean on long cuts with the 665. He nailed it. I only had the low side around 1.5 turns out. Opened it up a good bit and poof. It’s prolly 3 turns out now. Easy fix. Had the same issue with the Dolmar RWJ. Fed it more fuel and poof.

they had the stands so far apart with a safety wall in between that the camera couldnt get both sides

Dolkita short bar shootout in hero speed wood lol. Same b/c. Stock 7910 muffler mod 5.86/5.45 seconds.
Stock 6400 muffler mod 5.75/5.80 seconds.
Stock 7900 muffler mod 5.71/5.71 seconds.
