The Ford 6.0s need lots of upgrades, but when built right are very strong. LOUD, but strong. They eat fuel injectors for breakfast. Fuel injectors are the 6.0 weak link.
There is a few weak links not denying it lol, Head bolts, FICM, Hot no restart, oil leaks, oil cooler, Casting inside the block, etc
With Heui oil changes regularly are required. Also you can not throw parts at a 6.0 to fix a problem which sadly is why they get a bad rep because people will throw multiple sets of injectors and parts in and still not have the problem curred.
Truly is an engine that requires patience and diagnostics, You have to understand the system. The days of just cracking a line to see if an injector is bad are gone sadly.
Deere actually does not recommend doing that on some machines due to possibly contaminating the system.
Know of one that just has studs and get delete for bulletproofing.
Has 170c.c injectors, high flow up pipes, atlas tune. Exhaust, stock turbo though. Guy isn't easy on it with close to 230k. It's his main truck for everything around the farm, hauling hay, corn, cattle machines, off road cattle checks, plowing driveways.
Actually just puked one stick due to dreaded oil cooler.
Truck definitely barks though lol
