Just my POS 036 pro I found in box all in parts. Woods port and a 044 3/4 handle fitted to it. 24” bar in 22” maple. My official firewood saw.

it seems to be oiling it well. When I stopped cutting and put the saw away I noticed oil on the chain, and I didn’t run it at all after the last cut.

Rakers were down .030” and definitely was biting hard. If I didn’t lean on it much and let the chain do the work it seemed to run the 24” pretty good. Usually anything larger and I’m running the 066 or 064 so wood this size and smaller it will eat up.

Couldn’t wait so ran out after work and bucked a few rounds. Chain needs touched up but with a 28” bar it runs pretty strong for just having a muff mod!

I’m pretty impressed! Most saws I’ll run and quickly want more out of them. This one doesn’t have quite the pep and pickup of my ported saws, but runs strong in the cut and that’s where it peaked my interest.

I have had several 064's and they have all been excellent runners with a muffler mod. I have an early KS at the moment with an opened up single outlet exhaust that is an absolute beast.

I'm a huge 064 fan.
They don't need huge amounts of porting to make them really sing.
They have great port timing, nice flat opening uppers and deep well directed transfers from the factory.
If they had of duplicated the 064 cylinder but in 54mm for the 066 it would have been a far better saw than it was.

Geared toward torque. It’s gonna live with a 28 on it

I just keep the exhaust and transfers down a few degrees lower. It’s not that it adds torque, it adds forgiveness when using the dogs with an aggressive chain

Bang on, its not additional torque, its just widening the power band and bringing that peak back down a little bit to allow the saw to be loaded up and not fall on its face.
I do the same as Kevin, a degree or 2 less duration on timing all round, a nice arc on the exhaust roof and minimizing port open area to widen that power band.
