Cool. Thanks Kevin.
Thanks Tony.
Thanks for sharing that information.
Pioneer600,did a port job as a gift for worksaw use
He did an amazing job and the torque he got out of it
was amazing! He used a non decomp 12 mill jug ,and
it Idles great and spools up beautifly
I gave him a NOS jug and piston/ decomp
one and he opted to use the earlier jug.

Were you watching the tach in the first cut?
Yes, the 395 liked to run around 10,000rpm in cut and 390 was running around 9 - 9600rpm. I don’t hold them to a certain rpm. I run them where they cut the best by feel with the bar length they are running and the wood type. Just glance at the tach reading for curiosity and check tune if needed.

I used this saw all last week without a problem, thought I make a video of it running and it decided that today is the day it would crap out on me. Fortunately, it was only a bad purge bulb and it's back up and running like it should. It's hard to see in the pic, but the little valve in the bulb came apart.

I was curious to see how she could handle an 8... it pulls it but its very jumpy. After those 2 cuts in that vid I took it back to the barn to put the 7 back on. 20” 3/8 7 pin is the “just right” combination for this saw IMHO.
