use the choke shaft from the 361 carb with the 460 carb choke butterfly. The shaft needs its flat part widened slightly but then the choke works perfect.
Then you just need to get the impulse sorted
Can i exspect some gains with 036 intake Boot and 460 carb on a muff modded 361?

It's my personal experience with that sort of thing, with multiple applications. Behavioral problems will show up when you start adding a larger venturi than the intake passage.
It is common, but there are ways around it.

No, the incorrect match up will cause tuning problems.

Bout to start digging into a MS361 and wondering if I should opt for the 360 boot. Heard it has better flow. Saw's going to get new rubber bits all around and may see porting down the line (if I can't manage to let it go).

Jeff, looks nice, but when converting to square, you don't have to do the whole tooth all at once. I know you have run my saws when I have just hit the corner, and your (and others) were impressed by how it cut. I keep doing it and it eventually converts.

Also, you sure choose a tough piece of wood, but the saw looks good!

I didn't have any issues going from a 13mm wt carb to a 16.5mm hda/c3 China thing on a saw with a 15mm id intake, but it picked up like 3k rpm when I 3d printed an intake that matched the 22mm throttle note.

Thanks Mike. This was a chain that I got with my 036 when I bought it. It was rocked so I had to take quite a bit off to try and get the peak corner angle point back.
But I know what you mean.
Still learning every time I square file.
