Canned fuel only. Everyone listed on puregas.com only sell canned fuel. Noone in RI sells e free fuel. Airports will not sell to me unless my saws have wings. They sell 100LL fuel.

Nothing wrong with ethanol gas Jeff, especially at the rate you cut trees.

As long as you remember to run some Efree through you saws at the end of each season. Before finding chainsaw nirvana on the web, I used to fill my tanks up for the winter and leave in garage gassed for the surprise I get across my driveway once in a while. Never had a single issue. One saw an 066 and one an echo 330. The echo 330 stayed gassed for 12 years at least with ethanol fuel. Started right up every spring.

It won't ruin the internals of the saw at all. Maybe the fuel side rubbers, maybe, but likely not the oem stuff you run.

I cut up a big maple with my MMWS066 and went though 5 gallons of VP that cost me $85. After that I said fug this, switch back to pump fuel.

If I port a saw, and I know the owner won't be using it for a while, I run it on VP or motormix. I don't want any potential fuel issues for the owner.

So, if weight doesn't matter, than why does the 064 have such a cult like following??? I think I hear different songs being sung on different days!

It has a following on saw forums with enthusiasts mike...small percentage to say the least.

I dont know a logger or service guy that gives a flyin fukk about an 064...and i know alot of em'

Good saw it was.

Dead serious here...

If i told some of the guys ive worked with over the years that a tool i was using was too heavy and asked for a lighter one they probably would have made me wear a skirt and punched me in the nose.

My dad would be embarrassed.

Were talkin about 12-17 lb saws here lol.

Workin with a chainsaw is the easiest job ive ever had.
You got a good point. Crying about a 5 lb weight difference would have people offering me a skirt.

But...

Depends on what you do and how you do it.

I'm a homeowner cutter. I don't have a chipper that takes 12" wood. I'll actually keep branches 3" and better to burn. So the amount of limbing I do is likely much more and for more time than any PRO would do. My brush gets burned after drying. Holding a saw with two hands at arm length for hours is much more pleasurable when it an 026 than an 066. Been there, done that, and I'm not a weakling.

Now for bucking, a heavy saw is less work for me because it's weight helps downpressure in the cut. I don't like walking 1/2 mile in the woods carrying one heavy saw at all, I'd rather carry one in each hand for balance. It's harder to carry one.

Southern RI. I have checked everywhere. Trust me.
I hear the weather will be nice there today.

We need some videos Jeff.

I got 3 fuggin weeks of nothing but work and heavy duty social obligations ahead of me. It sux. Then it's hard work, opening pool, getting my ass waxed, etc for the spring/summer. No saw time.

Anyone I promised work and said I can't tell you when, the wait is here.

A saw shop in my area started selling shipping in 94 VP And selling it by the gallon. Granted $9 a gallon but last timeI saw a quart can of vp at the local parts store they wanted 7.50

Sure..i agree with that.

Like ive said before , i have to jump 20-30cc before i even take notice im using a different saw..i dont notice the weight difference in saws of the same class or a 10cc difference.

The weight difference between a 064/066 or something along those lines doesn't matter to me ... or anyone else that is even remotely strong or conditioned to work with a chainsaw.

I'm good, don't need a speacial pair of gloves to run one saw. For the amount of time I put on it, it's a non issue

There's this dude that works with us occasionally we call " gloves " he wont even get lines out of the boxes without gloves on..we ride him pretty hard lol...pussy.

I look at fuel economy and bar size when I cut. The MOFO 026 is super good on fuel usage. [emoji106]
Bigger saws guzzle fuel. But I still like them. [emoji6]
I like to use any Stihl saws that I bring. [emoji106]
An xtorq 372 is a gas sipper with similar torque to a standard 372. A noticable much more runtime. Some even think the xtorq has a bit more torque than the OE 372 when both are stock.

It is better has no ethanol in it but it's too expensive for me. I don't keep same fuel in a saw for more than a month so I just use 93 e10 40:1, there are stations that sell non ethanol though but there too far from me
This is my plan too. I try not to let saws sit for more than month. Using klotz kl200 now and may go 32:1 I've been using 40:1 Stihl ultra but many hate the smell. I don't know anyone who hates klotz :). Not trying to start oil thread here!
