Sweet
I have noticed that many times and I believe that it's the rings sealing off and the piston wearing in enough to get a better skirt seal.Yeah Dan, coulda been many things I guess, but the saw just suddenly gained power halfway through the thind cut. I though maybe it leaned out, but it didn't. Those were the first cuts the saw ever made and they were long an forceful. Jason says you can hear the rings seat in his videos a lot. I've never felt it happen like it did on this 460.
The saw needs the air box vented more. If you look at the little area it feeds from, you'll know what I mean. Jeff didn't want to ruin the stock look with Frogzskins. The saw does look kinda sharp. I have to find a way to vent the box but maintain the sock appearance.
Here's the very first cuts on my brandy new MMWS MS661 w/32" light 3/8" 8pin @33rsl, man this thing is Badass. Sorry the vid. is a little long I had to warm it up a little...
My date with the saw-bones is Mar 27th. No chainsaws for minimum 3 months after.
I too shall have the sharpest of chains.
You almost snuck this past me almost lol. Glad you decided to give it a test run instead of leaving it virgin. I'm not "allowed" to start mine till after my visit to the surgeon on March 1. Guess I'll go sharpen my chains for the third time lol.
Yeah there was no way I could resist the voices in my head, they are relentless regarding such matters. Hope the best for your doctor's visit.
What number Tilly was that?
There is a Tilly that will fit an 064/066, but it was just as a replacement carb I thought. Didn't think they were an OEM carb at any time but I could be wrongI swear I had an 064 come into the shop that had a tilly.... I remember with an 8 pin and a 32"bar it was impressive enough for me to want one. Maybe it was a Walbro
Like stated the Bing is rare carb and defiantly was like a hot rodded carb for them someone said once
I thought about trying a Walbro but Fortunately I have access to 2 Rebuild kits for my Bing.
I am a rookie at tuning and I will say the Bing is super easy to dial in. Sometimes just a hair on the H is all it needs to be at 14-14.3
Jason The dolmar received a tach and is easier to tune, Might upgrade the carb via poleman just because of the results it shows
