chain on backwards lol ?

You'd think so...I hope you didn't watch the whole thing...it only gets slower hahaha

Way to go buddy! Hey I have a chain or two like that. I was going to trash them but then I saw some race chains. Think I'll try to get them even and sharp!

There's not enough meat on this to even try and square it up...I took a couple swipes with the file to the teeth but there wasn't much...almost filed em all gone. It's going down to the shop to get saled...with a new chain :D

I literally just got done sharpening both the teeth and rakers. They were right on spec. I am just afraid to go to high with the RPM's, as I am an ultra conservative user.
Thanks Jason. [emoji106]

Hey @huskyboy I heard you made a visit to @Spike60 Bob's shop Ashokan Turf and Timber.
Just got off the phone with Bob to get some parts paid for for the 51 project.

Did you need some parts for that 372 a few posts back on this thread?
Someday I want to visit Bob's shop too -- he's definitely not the "normal" husky dealer in a good way!

If I can free up my weekend I'd like to try and get to Dan's @paragonbuilder when you guys get together so we can try assembling the 51 that I have the 55 OEM cylinder / piston for (case is split and new bearings, seals, gasket set, lines the works). The new cylinder looks sweet and itching to try it out, also did an intake mod with heli coils so the carb can be torqued down well and not strip the plastic. 50/51/55 intakes are funky IMHO compared to typical carb and boot setups on others.

If I make it down to Dan's I'll bring some saws to play with too.

Your 372 looks great in the video above. Nice work!

She seemed to be running strong, I would just lower the rakers and stay a little safe.
Completely agree.
If it wants to run over 15k to clean up in the wood then instead of letting it scream
Just fix your chain a little meaner so it cleans up at a slower rpm.

A new chain on most ported saws isn't enough load for them.

Make a more hungry chain or run a bigger sprocket and it will clean up at a lower rpm

Bob supplied the parts for the OE 346 that we had nmurph convert to an NE346. One of my favorite 50 cc class saws to limb with and occasional mid sized hard wood and such. Now that the price decrease on OEM cylinders came through from Husky maybe it will help move more rebuild setups. The new 55 cylinder and piston I've got is gorgeous.

Good idea. I think I will try a bigger rim. I gotta see what's on there.
I like smooth power. But I took the rakers down to what the guide showed as in spec. I may take another file or 2 off and try again. [emoji106]

I'm a notorious over aggressive raker filer ;)
Once it gets a little nutty then I'll simply do a few cleanup filings of the teeth w/o the rakers and get 'em dialed in that way.
Can always go light on it. We cut a lot of pine -- big pine chips are fun too.

Jeff Have you tried dogging in and leaning on it? May be another way to get her to stop 4 cycling in the cut.

I leaned on it a little. Not too much though. Lol
I don't like pushing one,it's unnecessary work.
Spec on a chain is for a stock saw not a ported on.

I run very low rakers but I also square file and you can get away with it because it's so smooth.

Chain is just as important as the saw and needs to be tuned to the saw just like everything else does.

I'm sure that's a 7pin so try a 8pin or take a couple swipes off the rakers.
