This 440 ran well today. It was 4 stroking almost all the way through the cut at about 14900 RPM'S. I had to lean on the saw to stop the 4 stroking. Ran real well today. 24" bar with 3/8" Carlton full chisel chain.
Wood was a 23" diameter Locust crotch that was pretty hard.

How's your fast tach working out? Every so often the battery falls out of mine and I have to put it back but other than that seems to work pretty good

Mine is brand new. There is a set screw that holds the battery cover on. Maybe you lost the set screw?

I agree, saw did run great! Did you lean it out after the video?

Jason did on fine job on that saw

Under the two screws and cover there's a small round battery and once in a while if you shake the tach just enough or put it down sometimes it falls out of the holder. Not really that big of a deal.

Hasn't happened on mine at all. Maybe there is a way to tighten up what holds the battery?

I think there may be a different design on the case.

Maybe push the wire springs that hold it tighter?

With the 046/460/461 if you switch carbs from 461 or vise versa, you can either change the choke arm, or the control lever, either works. I even modded a 461 control lever to work with a 460 carb (drilled a hole and added a piece of metal).

On the weight of a 372 it is just over 14 lbs, about the same to a few ounces more than a 044/440. A 262 is over 13 lbs, about the same weight as a 562 or 362.

The battery is under there if you take the cover off. I knocked mine off the table onto the concrete and it came out

Way to go buddy! Hey I have a chain or two like that. I was going to trash them but then I saw some race chains. Think I'll try to get them even and sharp!
