I just threw this farmertec 288 kit together and gave it some port timing tweaks without machine work just to see how it does. I have a 281 cylinder coming that I’ll be machining and porting for it. I have 3 of these FT kits. They’re fun if you don’t mind fiddling with em

372 with a couple minor adjustments. Gave it more advance and flattened the primaries. Running an 8 pin with a 24” bar and a somewhat aggressive loop of round filed full comp LGX in seasoned Sugar Maple. I was prying on it hard in the first cross cut and noodle. Has just the right amount of speed torque/forgiveness for my taste. I think im done tinekring for now. Well, maybe a liiitle but more of thissss.. little more o that… :D lol

Needs more cow bell, and a little more nitro wouldn't hurt.

I start adding methanol when I want even more power. It lets you richen the mix.

Ran a few tanks through the 066 today cutting up a good sized elm. Rocked the chain I started with cutting down the main stem for a forwarder that couldn’t lift it as it was, so had to swap to a stock carlton.

Better video of the 066 after a sharpen of the stock carlton it was running in the previous video. Rakers are fairly high but it was smooth cutting and not grabby which is nice as well. I picked this saw up with a roached piston, cleaned up the cylinder and threw in a meteor.

Good time to show a ported farmertec 288 vs stock 288 with a muffler mod after that zippy little 281. Both these are running 8t

@Red97 I was rewatching the pair of 395's dyno video and noticed the odd angle you had the bar set relative to the sprocket. The chain came off the bottom rail during one run. Did you realize and re run it? I wonder how much friction the hard angle on the top point of the bar adds?

I have had the bar all sorts of different angles and tensions. Seems very consistant. Needs some up angle to keep tight enough on the sprocket with the go get power saws.
